It is my own fault I didn't read this product data better but these wipes are meant to be a sealing component in a 3 step system of cleaning, sealing, and then polishing. They seemed to work just fine but for myself I kind of prefer and all in one, one step solution for my counters unless you have sone really exceptional circumstances. I compared these Granite Gold sealer wipes to Dupont Stonetech liquid sealer. Before I began the sealing test I first cleaned the countertops with Granite Gold cleaner as instructed. I applied both products to different parts of the countertop. I found the wipes much more convenient they come out of the package pre-moistened. You just wipe. The Dupont liquid sealer is much more difficult to apply. You have to mask off adjacent areas (such as drywall/wood) and you have to let the liquid soak in for 10-15 minutes. Also the Dupont product has a strong smell. But the Dupont product worked better on my porous limestone counter. Water left for 15 minutes soaked in where I used the Granite Gold product and left a water mark. But the area treated with the Dupont product did not (see photos). I suspect the amount of sealer applied by just using a moistened wipe (granite gold) just doesn?t compare to having liquid (Dupont) sit on the counter and penetrate during application. Some areas of the pad were wetter than others, while some areas were noticeably dryer. I tested this on a 36' granite top. One pad is plenty to cover this size top. You will need to buff the area with a rag after applying the sealer (before it dries out), or you will end up with a filmy haze. I tested the top after 2 applications of the sealer. It did seem to seal the top, as water would bead up when tested. I tried to take pictures, but it was too difficult to see the beaded water on the granite top in the picture. The package has an easy pull resealable sticker on the front to keep the wipes from drying out. The problem with this I discovered was that the area around the wipe pull out slot would get bubbling liquid sealer from the wipes you pull from the package. This would make it difficult to reseal the package, even if you wiped it off. There would always be a gap that let air in. A zipper seal of some kind would be better than this sticker based one. Either cleaners, baby wipes or furniture polish always seem to dry out before I use all the wipes. That being said, I was pleased with the sealer sheets, they are big enough to fit my hand and are really sturdy. My counter tops are about a year old so I wanted to reseal areas that are at risk of food stains like tomato sauces and grease splashes. Also around areas that water pooling by sinks. The directions suggest multiple coats, but even one, left overnight, made a clear difference when compared to the untreated stone -- glossier, smoother finish, and liquid beads up. Keep in mind this isn't polish -- Granite Gold makes that as well -- but it will protect your counters from stains. Non-toxic and biodegradable. They are super easy to apply since they come in large sheets so I just applied, waited for it to dry, and wiped it again. The granite sheets are more convenient than liquid sealers and I used it on more than granite surfaces. Once you wipe it on you are to buff it out, don't let it dry on the surface for it will leave streaks. With a soft cloth I buffed it out to a super shiny finish and made the counter look new.
